FAQ - Lifeguards
How do I become a Lifeguard?
Firstly you must become a member of the Club.
Secondly we recommend taking the Bronze Medallion qualification. This is a RLSS qualification and can be counted towards the hours needed for the NPLQ.
Thirdly a RLSS Pool Lifeguard manual must be purchased. This includes
the manual,
a form for completion after assessment and
the cost of the assessment itself at the end of the course.
How long does it take to train to become a National Pool Lifeguard?
This depends on the individual. Because the club runs a rolling programme the more club nights you attend (3 hours per week) the quicker you build the knowledge and hours required. Please see club night s page for venue and times.
